Dr. E. D. Mackellar, chairman,of the Examining Board, wrote to the Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board last night that, while he did not desire reappointment to that committee, still he was willing to act if the departure of so many medical men for the war caused any difficulty. He, however, stipulated that Mr. Casement Aicken should continue to act as his colleague. The Board decided to ask Dr. Mackellar to reconsider his decision, and several members spoke eulogistieally of the valuable services tendered by that gentleman.
