THE CARNIVAL CORONATION.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I and many others wish to proteat against the Carnival committee's decision to hold- all the coronations in the Town Hall for the benefit of some ten or twelve thousand people, to the exclusion of a hundred odd thousand ) people- of this city and suburbs, not to mention country visitors, who would like to be present. I venture to assert that the bulk v of the money for the group of city Queens comes from the pockets of those who have to toil for it, and have most liberally responded. Thousands of children, also, have willingly given their pocket-money, and otherwise assisted, and these are all deprived of seeing • thiar most • intcrestmgj ceremony. -I • would-suggest that-one 1 I coronation be arranged for on Saturday afternoon on the Domain cricket ground< or Point Erin Park, with 1/ admission for adults and 3d for children of school age. Thirty or forty thousand attendances would make a substantial addition to the fund.—l am, etc., OLD SOLDIER.
