ARTILLERY BOMBARDMENT IN FRANCE.

ENEMY'S BIG GUNS ACTIVE IN FLANDERS. WELLINGTON, November 23. Cabling from London under date 22nd inst., the High Commissioner forwards the following communique from Sir John French:— "Our artillery during the last four days bombarded many, portions of the hostile lines with good effect. The enemy's artillery has been active north of Loos, east of Armenticres. and cast of Vpres. "A Ucrman aeroplane landed in our line on Friday. The pilot and observer lost their way and were captured. — "The statements in the German report of Sunday minimising their losses' near Loos on October 8 arc altogether incorrect." A Press Association message gives the same information, adding that the enemy air raids at Poperinghe, near Yprcs, on the 18th inst., wounded two soldiers and killed four cows. A second air raid caused eight casualties. Others were without result.
