EXPLOSION PARTIALLY WRECKS CANADIAN MUNITION WORKS.
BELIEVED TO BE THE WORK OF GERMAN AGENTS. . FIVE CORDITE STORES EXPLODED. J 1 (Received 9.10 a.m.) OTTAWA, November 23. An explosion, the cause of which is unknown, but which is believed to be the work of alien enemies, occurred in the plant of the Canadian Explosive Company at Parry Sound, Ontario. The plant occupied three square miles. Five one-storey buildings, used for the storage of cordite, which is manufactured in large quantities, were obliterated, but there was no loss of life, as the employees had left before the explosion, the force of which partly wrecked the railway station. In view of the suspicious nature of the occurrence 150 men of the overseas contingent have been dispatched, and a cordon has been thrown round the works.
