ENEMY'S COUNTER-ATTACKS REPULSED.
BRITISH RETAKE QUARRIES AT HULLUCH. TBOOP TRAINS BOMBED BY BRITISH AIRMEN. WELUXI.TON. September 27. The High Commissioner ha* sent the following cable from lx>ndon, under date 27th inst. : — "Sir John French reports that there was severe li^iiiiiifj to-day on the ground won by the British yesterday. The rm-ray made determined rountfrattacks ea*t and north-east of Loo». Tin* r«v«iilt of this fighting in that except just north of Loos the British hold all the ground gained, including the whole of Loos itself. This evening the British retook the quarries north west of Hullurh. which were won and lo«t yesterday.
