NO PLACE FOR CRIMINAL.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Joseph Griffiths, a man with a long list of convictions recorded in nil parts of the Dominion, but chiefly nt Auckland, pleaded guilty to the thefl of a handbag nt the Hamilton Hotel. Accused asked for a chance to «o to the front, stating that he had enlisted. The magistrate said men of the prisoner's character were no good for fighting their country's battles, and sentenced him to three months' imprisonment with hard labour.
