LOCAL ROLL OF HONOUR.
(By Telegraph. — Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Friday. A suggestion which will probably be taken up quite heartily through New Zealand was made to-day to the Government by the Hon. D. Buddo. It is that they should suggest to local authorities theadvisableness of keeping a local record and roll of honour of all men who go to the front from their several districts, with details as to casualties and service of each officer or soldier in any . ountrv where the Imperial Army or Navy is operating. Mr. Buddo added that such a Tecord would be invaluable to inquiring friends, and save time and inquiries at the Defence Department. If the local bodies staffs could not undertake this work, there would be plenty of ■willing residents who would do the work gratis under their official supervieion.
