A PLETHORA OF WHEAT.
RUSSIA'S RECORD YIELD. WAITING FOR A WAY OUT. LONDON, September 3. The great effect the forcing of the Dardanelles will have on the food question is shown by the estimates of the Russian pram crop. Cutting will be finished in a week. The grand total is expected to he -250,000,000 quarters. The crops already harvested total 55,000,000 quarters above last year's yield, and 30.500,000 quarters in excess of a fiveyears' average. A "Daily Mail" correspondent, in sup plying these figures, says the Russian Minister of Agriculture has given a definite assurance in figures, so dispelling the doubts thrown by German agents on the unusual value of the yield. Great .juantities of grain are accumulated at tlie Black Sea. awaiting the success of the Oallipoli operations. The estimate of the world's wheat crops for 1915-16 is 455.500.000 quarters, as against 450.000.000 in 1913-14.
