An hour after leaving Tilbury the vessel vrae ordered to shelter at Margate owing to German mine* in the Channel. She remained at Margate tor the night, and on proceeding in- the morning uc a dark ohjeet ahead. The patrol boats fired on the object, irhieh proved to be a mine, and exploded it. The passengers were greatly relieved when the ship cleared tbe Channel.
