The funeral of the late Mrs Blackwood, wife of Mr J. H. Blackwood. of Onehunga. look place on Saturday afternoon. An impressive service was held in the Congregational Church, conducted by the Rev. S. J. Campbell. The chief mourners were Mr J. H. Blackwood and thr>>e daughters, Air ,T. Beaver (father), Messrs Walter and James Beaver (brothers). Miss Beaver and Mrs Denize (sisters of the deceased lady). The funeral cortege, was one of the largest ever seen in Onehunga, and included representatives of the Manukau Lodge of Freemasons, Onelninga Chamber of Commerce, Onehunga Bowling Club, Independent Order of Keehabitcs, the Adult School, and all the churches. Mr Campbell read the burial service at the interment, which took place in the Waikaraka Cemetery. Last night a memorial service was held in the Congregational Church, and was conducted by the pastor i Rev. S. J. Campbell). Mr .!. Mr Hipwell conveyed to the bereaved relatives the sincere sympathy of the church and the Sunday-school. The pastor, at the close of the' sermon, sang "'Crossing th" Bar." and the service concluded with the playing of the "Dead March in Saul"' by the organist (Mr Harry Cleggl. Leo Augustus South and Thomas Hej-k admitted having a fight in the Hoheon HotoJ bar, and South was Gned 1(1,- and 23/ coste, and lierk 10/- without ooste.
