4 TWO OFFICERS AND FIVE MEN DEAD. FOUR AUCKLANDERS IN THE LIST. , Two lists of casualties in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force were issued by the Defence Department yesterday. They reported that one officer had been killed in action, and that one officer and five men had died of wounds, the officer and two of the men having previously been reported as. wounded. An additional list of one officer and 103 men who have been wounded was also published. The twenty-second list, published in our last issue, contained the names of 86 non-commissioned officers and men of the Auckland Infantry Battalion who had been wounded. The twenty-third list, issued last evening, reported the following casualties:—Auckland Battalion, one oflicer killed in action, and one officer wounded; Wellington Battalion, one officer ami four men died of wounds, six men wounded; Canterbury Battalion, nine men wounded: Otago Battalion, three men wounded; Xew Zealand Engineers, one noncommissioned officer died of wounds. During the operations against Turkey the force lias suffered a total of 1289 casualties. Twenty-six officers have been killed in action or succumbed to wounds. 6-2 non-commissioned officers and men have died of wounds, four men have died from disease, two officers are missing, and r>B officers and 11-0 men have been wounded. These losses have been shared by the various units as follows: —

GRAHAM REltt left with the rank of corporal, in the 3rd Auckland Infantry, but his keen interest in the work and his natural ability were such that his subsequent promotion is not at all surprising. He was the only oon of Mrs. J. Stuart Reid, of Dilworth Avenue, Kcmuera. and was thirty-one yeare of age. After leaving King's College he entered the service of the Northern Steamship Company, and subsequently was chief clerk for Messrs. Anderson and Colbeek, sharebrokers. Some two years ago he started business a* a company secretary, and also acted as secretary to the Auckland .Merchants' Association. As soon as the call for men was made he and several of his intimate friends were among the first to join the ranks of the Auckland quota. Lieut. Reid was a prominent member of the Kings College Old Boys , Association, in which he held all the offices at various times including that'of president, also of the Auckland Golf club, the Yacht Club, and several other athletic and social organisations. Deceased had a very wide circle of friends and his relatives will have their sincere sympathy. The late Lieutenant Reid was also" secretary of the Citizens' Defence League. He evidently won his commission in the field, during recent operations at the Dardanelles, for a letter received by his cousin (Mr W Hanilin) this morning written on April «. just before leaving Cairo, stated that he still had only a corporal's stripes.
