♦ ASSOCIATION. MATTER? OK MANAGEMENT. SEASON OPENS LN FOB.TNTGST. The weekly meeting of the Auckland Football Association was held iv the S|>orts Club. His Majesty's Arcade, on Tuesday evening. In addition, a set of medals to the winners of each competition. i Belgian Keller Fund.—Mr R. G. Cox wrote offering to present a set of caps in the Belgian colours for the winners of a seven-a-sido tournament in aid of the Belgian Belief Fund. It was resolved that Mr Cox be thanked, and that a tournament be held at a date to be arranged at nc.vt meeting of the A.F.A. rutmanelal .Members.—Club secretaries were notified to carefully road the rule referring to this matter, and to notice that their only claim for protection of the Association can be upheld when registration or defaulters has beeu made before or at the end of April. Club Colours.-Various clubs wrote applying for registration of colours, and, with Ihe exception of Brotherhood, these -were all in order and granted. It was resolved that the Brotherhood Club reverse the colours of the tirst and second division, seniors to wear hoop jerseys and first division juniors two-inch stripes in the present club colours. Grounds.—Two playing grounds arc now in good order at Hayswater. and the contractor has the remaining ones well In hand. The Adult School wrote offering j the use of their ground to the Association when nol occupied by i hem. The support of the clubs holding private grounds Is much appreciated by the Executive No |-J ground on the Domain has now been -granted by the City Council | Tho V.M.C.A. Proposal. A lei lor was received from Mi- G. W. Adair, hoys' work director. Auckland V.M.C.A.. writing on behalf of the boys' division. He stated that it was not their intention to enter auy teams in either ihe fourth, fifth or sixth grade competitions controlled by the A.F.A. but to organise a league among ihe boys i under their control. The Association does not look on this move of Ihe V.M.C.A. boys' division with ! favour, and could not recognise any outside association. Members playing for a j league not affiliated with the A.F.A. would not be eligible for selection in representative matches: neither would affiliated clubs be permitted to arrange fixtures with them. These conditions would prevail throughout New Zealand, aud would debar any member of the Y-M.CA. boys" association takIng part in inter-provin.-lal matches, even if arranged by themselves, provided lliev desired to play with members of teams affiliated with the New Zealand Football Associatiou. Arrangements for Saturday.—Owing to the competitions not commencing ou Saturday next, clubs were granted permission to arrange practice matches.
