OBITUARY.
A FOOTBALLER'S DEATH. A verdict of suicide during temporary insanity wae returned by Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., at an inquest held at Devonport this afDernoon on the body of Jno. Richard Wynyard, aged 30, a well known footballer, who resided with his parente in Calliope Road. Evidence wav given by the father of the deceased to th« effect that his son, who was an unmarried clerk, had been out of work for a considerable time, but was always of a cheerful disposition. On returning home l«et evening, about 5 p.m., he went straight into his bedroom, and a moment later an unusual noise caused witness to make investigations. He found that his son had cut 'his throat with a razor, and was on the point of expiring.
Dr. Bennett, who had known the deceased for some time, said, in view of his temperament, he could only attribute Wynyard's action to impulsive Insanity. The verdict recorded above was returned accordingly. MR J. R. HAXXA. Mr John R. Hanna. a well known resident of Auckland, who for years was a partner in the firm of Hemus and Hanna, photogttiphens, Queen Street, died at Ellerslie to-day. When his partner retired, Mr Hanna carrieu on the business, until failing health compelled him to leave Auckland. For a long time subsequently Mr Hanna was in business at New Plymouth, but the state of hi* health necessitated his retirement. About two years ago the family removed to Ellersiie. where he died in his sixtysixth year. Deceased was a prominent member of the Masonic fraternity, being a P.M. of Lodge Ara, 348. 1.c., and also held office in the Grand Lodge, I.C In his younger years 'Mr iHanna was also an energetic worker in connection with St. James' Presbyterian Sunday school, and the Sunday school mission". While his health lasted Mr Hanna was of a bright, genial temperament, and made many friends. He is survived by his widow and grown-up family, as well a* iour brothers and two sisters.
