SUCCESSFUL OPERATIONS. ENEMY HOIST WHITE FLAG. (Received 10.6 a.m.) LONDON, March 24. Casualties among the South African Union troops during the recent fighting in East Swakopmund, in German Southwest Africa, were: Killed 13, wounded 36, and missing 43. Renter's correspondent says that the operations on Saturday were most important and successful. The fighting is stall in progress. Colonel Albert's commando surrounded the enemy in a strong position at Barend's Mine, and charged one of the enemy's guns. Wolkmaren's artillery annihilated the gunners of another gun, and wrought terrible havoc among the men and mules. The German artillery commander's head was blown off, and the enemy then hoisted the white flag. Twenty of the enemy were killed, twenty-one wounded, and two hundred and ten prisoners were taken. Much ammunition was captured. Collins' commando captured a complete train of supplies during operations in another part of the district.
