REPORT OF THE AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. DEFICIT OF £527 FOR THE YEAR. At the annual general meeting of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association, which is to be held on Friday afternoon, members will be informed that a deficit of £527 2/4 has been recorded for the past year. The annual report shows th.it the "deficit is made up of losses of £380 7/3 on the 1014 metropolitan show, of £91 14/6 on the Campbell and Otahuhu show grounds, and £55 0/7 on the 1014 factory butter and cheesegrading points competition.

The committee express especial regret with the result, as it was hoped that the metropolitan show would have provided a substantial donation towards the Patriotic and Belgian Funds. Owing to boisterous weather the gate receipts were £416 below tiic average, and the expenditure on prizes was heavier by £273 18/1. Since the Campbell show ground was taken over on lease four years ago it had been found necessary to spend some £8,266 on buildings, improvements, and equipment.

The report makes feeling reference to the loss of several supporters by death, including Lieut.-Col. W. R. Bloomfield and Messrs. James Forrest, A. K. Hayward, Robt. Wallace, and Thos. Wyllie. The membership roll had increased to 1,100, and the association was doing a valuable work for the farming community. At tbe same time, the executive appealed for the support and sympathy of a larger number of those interested in agricultural pursuits.

In conclusion, the committee expressed thanks to the office staff for the valuable work which had been ungrudgingly performed by them.
