AQUATICS.

REGATTA ON SATURDAY. The honorary secretary of the Auckland Rowing Association (Mr H. Blampied) will receive entries until to-morrow for tbe'provinclal championship regatta, which, it has been arranged, is to be held on the harbpur on Saturday afternoon. The course will be laid according to weather conditions prevailing at the time, and adequate arrangements will be made to convey spectators to the best point of vantage from which to witness the racing. - The regatta, comprising events which carry the provincial championship, will be conducted on literally amateur lines. The trophies to be. rowed for are cups aud shields, which may not be won" outright, though association caps are attached to some of the races. Among the better" known trophies' to be competed for are the Dewar. shield, the Marshall cup and the ftussell Cup. In addition to these there ace trophies presented by men whose names are well known In the rowing wofld: Mr H. A. Marrlner, Mr A. I. Former, Mr W. G. Mason, Mr W. C. Scale, Mr R. Farrell, and Mr J. M. F. Connolly. The distinctive feature of the regatta Is, however, the shield presented by Mr John Clark, president of the Rowing Association, and allotted for competition among welter-weight maiden oarsmen.

ONEHUNGA MOTOR RACE.

A motor boat race for three purees presented by Mr. ,T. Parkt president of the Manuka.li Motor Boat Club, was held over a harbour course on Saturday afternoon at Onehnnga.
