The Northern Co.'s steamer Chelmsford, which was sheltering near Slipper Island yesterday and on Saturday, owing to the gale, reached Tauranga from Auckland this morning. The steamer Tasman, which had been sheltering at Motuihi, also arrived there safely. The auxiliary lighter Te Teko, which took refuge in Mercury Bay. left there for Tauranga yesterday afternoon. Air.
