OAMARU FIRE INQUIRY.
DECISION RESERVED. OAMARU, Friday. The inquiry into the fire at the StaT and Garter Hoterwaa continued to-day, •and t/he taking of evidence was concluded at 5 p.m. Mrs. Harvey, the lessee of the 'hotel, was examined at great 'length as bo her buGineEß a.nd financial affaire. A great quantity of other evidieaoe was brought forward. Samuel Clark, the commercial traveller who made sensational allegations yesterday, was re-examined by the coroner Bβ to Mise Tel-fer'K statements that he had made improper overtures to her. Witness 'Characterised them as being absolutely and emphatically' untrue. . - - The coroner raid' that come of the evidence • was co- extraordinary that he would take- time to review : it,. and he reserved Iks 'decision until Wednesday next. - - ■ ■ .
