MAINTENANCE CASES.

Several oases, were dealt wi*bh at the Magistrate's Court Shortly by Mr. C. C. Kettle, 5.~i1., this morning. His Worship •gave his decision in a case in which A. ,T. GTandispn (ilr. Kettle said defendant had -paid the 7/6 per week ordered for some time. So application had been made to set aside the 'order. It was true the defendant had left the conn-™, but still he returned in October, 1012, and no application was mad-e to vary the order until tlie second -of February tihis year. After considering al" .the circumstances of the j case, hdn Worship said he was not pre- - pared to doubt the truth of the girj's =rta.t-?ment _s to the father of her child. (The application walß therefore dism-isaed. - An application to increase the main-te—-anoe order to 10/ per week was refused. Alfred T. O'Mea-na was ordered to pay £1 10/ per week for the maintenance of two children, the mother of whom declared he was the fither, and that they had been living tngerther as husband and wife.
