I Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Bennett, of Syd- | ney, have been spending an extended holiday in New Zealand, and have re- , turned after visiting most of the tourist resorts. They will stay at the Star Hotel until their departure on the next Sydney steamer. Mr. and 'Mrs. V. E. Pisarenko leave Wellington to-day for Japan, via Sydney, lon business connected w?th the AngloOriental Trading Syndicate (of which Mr. H. H. Hunt is the Auckland secretary), formed for the development of trade with the East. Tliey are due to arrive in Kobe on 20th April. The Hotel and Restaurants' Employees' Union picnic takes place next Sunday at Motutapu. The Trades' Union Silver Band will be in attendance with their _§w inatrumenti, for __■ first time.
