» BANDMASTER J. SIMPSON. (By. Telegraph,—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, this day. Advice hae been received in Palmerston North of the death iff Egypt of Bandmaster B, J. Simpson, a member of the main Expeditionary Force, following upon an operation. Simpson was well known in Wairarapa, Canterbury and 'Hawke's Bay in connection with brass bands. He was for three years champion cornetist of the Dominion, and was appointed -bandmaster of the Regimental Band at the main camp in Awapuni. He was a eon of tNurse Simpson, of Palmerston. There are two brothers in Ashburton, a sister in Carterton, and three others in Palmerston. (Received 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 18. The death 8s announced in Egypt from meningitis of Major Frank M. W. Parker.
