FORESTERS' CONFERENCE.
OPENED AT AUCKLAND. "UNFAIR COMPETITION."' The annual meeting of the Ancient Order of Foresters, Auckland District, was opened at Dp.vonport this morning. There were present delegates from Dargaville. Paparoa, Maungaturoto, llelensviMe, Auckland city and suburbs, Taumarunui, Hamilton, Thames, Waihi, and Tauranga. The report of the executive (which has already been published)was adopted. I It was reported that there were fortyI five members with the New Zealand Kxpeditionary Forces. I The following resolution was carried I unanimously: "That this conference ot Foresters in the Auckland District pro- | tests against the continuance of, the f unfair competition of the State Subsidised National Provident Fund, and that the iGo-»ernment be requested to amend the i Friendly Societies Act so as to provide the s»mc measure of assistance to i friendly societies as is given to the I National JYovident Fund."
