Complaint <was made to the Auckland police to-day bhut further damage hai 4>een done in Street by the slashing of windows witia a-diamond. The opinion is expressed- by the shopkeepers concerned that the damage was done last night, although this view is not held By tie pdliee. The damage was first brought to'light by the 'Frisco Framing Company noticing that someone apparently had been <ieliberately attempting to make the windows of the premises look nnsightly by.drawing a dirty cloth across the window. Examination of adjacent premises showed that the individual who had, found enjoyment in this .manner had treated other windows similarly. Accordingly ithe Framing Company decided to notify the police, and also draw attention to the fact that seme time ago somebody had damaged the window .by drawing a glass cutter, diamond, or other sharp instrument across SSd inflicting an unsightly cut.
