WHEAT SHORTAGE IN WEST AUSTRALIA.
PERTH, this day. At a conference of representatives of the Millers' Association and the Grain and Foodstuffs Control Board it was agreed that the Government ehould import from 17,000 to 23.000 tons of wheat. A resolution to that effect is to be brought before tlie Cabinet. The Premier previously stated that the Government was not willing to bear losses that might be incurred. The Grand and Foodstuffs Control Board intends seizing fionr and fixing the selling price. SYDNEY CITY RAILWAY. SYDNEY, this day. The State Treasurer. Mr. J. H. Cann, says that in all probability the work of installing an electric railway to deal with the traffic of the city will be commenced in July. RICH GOLD FIND. SYDNEY, March 17.
