SENTRY'S CLOSE CALL.
AT PERTH RESERVOIR. I ESCAPE OF ASSAILANT. j ' (Received 9.10 a.m.) PERTH, this day. A sentry guarding a reservoir challenged a man who refused to stop. After again challenging, the sentry fired. The man,~who was not hit, fired at one of the sentries, whose cap was pierced by the 'bullet. Later the, same night, the man was again observed in the vicinity. He was challenged and fired at, and then made off into the bush.
