ANNUAL GENERAL MEBTTNG. NEW DIRECTORS ELECTED. The annual meeting of the Auckland Young Men's Christian Association was held last evening, being preceded bv' 4 tea which was partaken of at "the invitation of the president (Mr. R L, Stewart). The attendance was declared to.be a record, and a great amount of enthusiasm was imparted into the proceedings. . : In the course of his remarks the president said that the occasion was tha sixtieth birthday of the Auckland Association. During their existence they had gone through five buildings each being larger than the one that had gone before, and the present structure was capable of considerable .extension. The speaker spoke feelingly'of the memory of the late Mr. R.'R, - Shalders, who was the founder of the Association in Auckland, and in whose garden the first building was erecfea. He also expressed appreciation of-tae gift by Mr. E. Bartley, of photographs of the first three buildings which had. been associated with the productive work of the Association. In conclusion Mr. Stewart expressed the opinion that the coming year would be one of great '• activity in the interests of the' young manhood of the city. (Applause.) '. After the annual report and . balance sheet had been adopted a3 printed," the annual election of officers took place, with the following results:—President,. Mr. H. M. Smeeton; vice-presidents Rev. W. E. Gillam, Messrs. W. E. Bush, A. C. Caughey, Wesley Spragg, ahd.R. L. Stewart; honorary treasurer, Mr. .R. H. Horsley; honorary secretary, Mr. H. S. Kendon; board of directors, Messrs. W. M. Barton, W. Birss, B. Battle; XV J. Dellow, C. R. Edmonds, H. G. Fountain, C. T. Haynes, R. A. Kenner, R. Laidlaw, R. MeC'onnell, G. T. Oxley.JF. Renahaw, F. E. Sutherland, A. Wusbh, V and Captain G.
