NO APPEAL. COLONEL HOLMES PROMOTED. (Received 9.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. Mr G. F. Pearcc (Defence Minister) stated that the Commonwealth military nirthorities did not intend to interfere with the decisions of the Egyptian courtmartial, by which certain members of the Expeditionary Forces were sent back to Australia. The alleged statement that another 2,000 men v.»r e returning was absolutely incorrect. No advice of any further rejections haiT been received. Colonel Holmes (commander of the late New Guinea expedition) has been appointed commander of the fifth infantry brigade of the Expeditionary Force. ■ ■ —
