The settlers of Eastport Road met on Saturday evening to consider the question of the manufacture of cbeeee insten.d of butter. A number of speakers contended that cheese was a better proposition, and a motion was carried to the efTeet that It Is desirable that a cheese factory be-erected. A committee consisting of Messrs. Dixon, G. W Horn, A. Wagstaff. Jones. H. Maplll, and 3. L. Arndt was appointed, to further the project, and to meet the directors of the Te Aroha Dairy Company in connection with the matter. ... The Walhou Valley's consignment of rheese, per s.s. Mnmarl, realised S7/ per cw*".- in the London market. The annual picnic In connection with the Te Aroha" District .High School will be held at Omahu, on Wednesday next.
