NEW SYLVIA. Crosseutting is proceeding 200 ft south of the winse to pick up No. 1 reef in the footwall. WAIHI REEFS GIGANTIC. Crosseutting at the I,oooft level, the j north crosscut now measures 274 ft from the shaft. The country penetrated has firmed to strong blasting country, and is hard to drill. The manager states he should not be surprised to find this to be a narrow belt encasing the reefs system. The following works are In progress at the battery, building hopper for filter presses, also elevators, and constructing a large vat. The first plies were driven for the tail tanks, and struck the original "bottom" at 10ft down.
