Meeting to-day, none of the other provinces getting within reasonable distance of the home men's total. The Aucklanderg bad a bad run, being never prominent in the finish**. Laurie, the old-time pole vaulter and jumper, was heartily' welcomed, and one would have liked to ace the "veteran bold his own against younger men, but the nearest he got to success was third place, Doyle" (Wellington) winning the high Jump with 6ft 7|ln. * 6 ■* Francis failed in the half and three miles and did not start in the mile race, while Ford-ham made an unsuccessful effort In toe quarter hurdles.
