JUBILEE REUNION.

A most successful re-union of past and present members of the Auckland Typographical Union was held at the Tiffin restaurant last Saturday evening, to celebrate the jubilee of the organisation. There were about 120 present, and the hall was nicely decorated with patriotic and other flags. Mr. F. Christmas (president) occupied the chair, supported by the following members of the Board of Management:. Messrs. J. Graham (vicepresident)/ F. A. Cleveland (secretary), H. W. Brookes, J. Buchanan, H. L. Lloyd, H. W. Meredith, R. Taylor, F. L. Connolly, F. G. Bishop, \V. E. Macdermott, R. IS. Calthorpe, and R. J. Simpson. There were also present Messrs. R. James, J. Regan and W. T. Jennings (past presidents)', R. B. Nesbitt (past president and secretary), A. McDonald (past vice-president), M. Connolly and T. Ferguson (old members of the union), and W. Lane (editor of "N.Z. Herald"). A number of congratulatory letters and telegrams were read and apologies for unavoidable absence were received from several old members and from country craftsmen. '

After a good menu had been done full justice to, the chairman made a few introductory remarks, and the following programme of toasts was gone through: "The King," proposed by the president; "The Founders of the Union," proposed by the vice-president and responded toby Mr. R. James; "Past and Present Officers," proposed by Mr. D. R. Salmon and responded to by Messrs. R. R Nesbitt. H. VV. Brookes, J. Regan and W. T. Jennings; "Old Members of Union," proposed by Mr. J. Buchanan; ''Absent Members," pro-' posed by the secretary; "Britain and Her Allies," proposed by Mr. W. Lane and replied to by Mr. R. J. Simpson; "Fathers of Chapels," proposed by Mr. E. Wright and acknowledged by Mr. P. J. Koefoed; "The Collectors," proposed by Mr. F. Armiger and responded to by Mr. W. K. Macdennott; "The Press," proposed by Mr. H. W. Brookes and acknowledged by Mr. Lane.

Musical and elocutionary items were acceptably rendered as follows: Song, "Fight for Your King and Country," Mr. A. J. Rusden; songs, "The Deathless Army" and" "The Bandolero," Mr. J. Wallace Atkinson; dramatic recital, "Thorl the Boxer," Mr. G. Woolfoid; comic Bongs, "Ten Little Fingers'' and "Play Some More Ragtime," Mr. Geo. Smith"; song, "Two Grenadiers," Mr. H. L. Lloyd; comic songs, "Introduce Mc to the Lady" and "I've Made Such a Hit with the Girls," Mr. A. Austen; humorous items, Mr. Alan McElwain; song, "It's a Long Way to Tipperary," Mr. F. Harvey; song, "My Beloved Queen," Mr. A. H. Wilson.

During the evening the opportunity was taken to .present a gold albert nnd medal to Mr. J. Buchanan, in recognition of his services as president for 1913 and 1014. The gathering being an historic one, naturally some of the oldest members were in a reminiscent mood, and it was just on midnight when the function terminated with a vote of thanks to the president and secretary and "Auld Lang Syne."
