FARMERS' UNION.
TWO XEW BRANCHES. A well-attended meeting of settlers wae held in the Xgaruawahia public library on Thursday evening last, to hear an address by Mr. A. iScbmitt (provincial secretary) on the aims and objects ot the Farmers" Union. After hearing the address, the farmers present unanimously resolved to form a branch of the union, and the following officers were elected:—President, Mr. D. Ralne; vice-president, Mr. E. J. Rogers; secretary, Mr. AY. Paterson; committee, Messrs. .T. Paterson, jun., W. Fuller, E. Rathborue, H. Sullivan. A. B. McOabe. W. V. Hardwick. and A. A. Kay. Twenty-one members of the branch were enrolled. On Friday night another branch waa formed at Waingaro, where the settlers were addressed by Major r.nsk (provincial {iresident) and Mr. Sell mitt. The followng officer, were elected:—President. Mr. W. Seavill; secretary. Mr. «". Parsons; comniitr.ee. Messrs-. U. se„vi:_ F. Ball. A. H. Cogswell. G. Palmer, and D. Parsons.
