PICNICS.
The excursion to Pine Island held In aid of the Campbell Free Kindergarten funds on Saturday was a complete success. About COO persons took advantage of the opportunity for a good day's outing, and with beautiful weather conditions the excursion proved exceedingly enjoyable. An excellent musical programme was provided by the hand of the Auckland Mounted Rifles. It* Is expected that a substantial sum will result from the picnic.
•Messrs. Turnbull and Joues held their third annual piculc at Oneroa Bay on Saturday. The party, conelariug of about fifty persons, were conveyed to the scene of "the day's enjoyment In iwo launches.
