TROUBLE AVERTED IN WALES. LOXDON7 March 14. As a result of meetings of the Conciliation Board in connection with the Xorth Wales' collieries, amended proposals will be submitted to the owners. A miners' strike is considered unlikely. The South Wales Federation rejected an offer of ten per cent war bonus. POWERFUL AMALGAMATION. CRITICAL POSITION IN N.S.W. (Received 9.10 a.m.) 6YDNEY, this day. The Australasfcui Coal and Shale Employees' Association, representing an amalgamation of the coalmining unions throughout the Eastern States has been launched. Later it is proposed to extend activities to Westralia and New Zealand. The whole of the south coast mines are idle to-day to enable the men to discuss the arrest of a number of wheelers for nonpayment of fines. The men.also have other .grievances. The position is regarded as critical. With tho exception of the Whitburn mine, work will be resumed in the Moitland collieries, where there was trouble over the afternoon shift.
