Chilled hinds, Old; fores, S.d. I Butter.—The market is very firm. Danish, 'l.fl/ to US/; Sew Zealand. 138/ to 140/; I exceptionally choice, 142/; Australian, 130/ to 138/; exceptionally choice, 140/; Siberian, 130/ to 134/: Argentine, 1 34/ to 13S/. | Cheese.—The market Is very firm owing to continned demands for Government. 'Holders are firm. The Somerset should dock i some time to-day. The Canadian supply Is I practically exhausted. Canadian white and Coloured. 94/ to 96/: New Zealand (firm). | white and coloured, 92/ to 94/; United ■States, 80/ to 90/; English Cheddar (Arm), 08/ to 102/: Australian. 89/ to 02/. | Hemp.—The market Is rather more active, and there Is better 'demand. New Zealand, good fair grade, £32; fair £32; fair current Manila; -3G 10/,'ln'any position. The ontpnt from .Manila for the week was 24.000 bales. Quotations always Include war risk. r. Wheat.—The market Is steady, but there "has been considerable fluctuation In prices. ■Surer* are holding bock, and holders are not disposed to yield, as Argentine reports are unfavourable. Canadian, 02/; American, 02/; Argentine, 61/. Wool.—The market is strong. TALLOW. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from tbelr London ofllce, ander date 10th : Inst.—"Tallow: We quote present spot values for the following descriptions :—Fine mutton. 42/ perewt: good beef, 40/9; mixed 33/. The market Is dull, with downward tendency."
