There are daily indication tliat sympathy with the suffering Belgians is being well sustained in the Auckland provincial district, and it is satisfactory that the total of the funds contributed has been increased to £40,667 10/3. •Included in to-day's otal is a cheque of £200 from the XX Farmers' Union This brings the total contributed per the N.Z. Farmers' Union up to £1,000. I Th* OtaJiuhu" Trotting Club have i handed in to the Acting Consul a cheque I for £158, being the net profits on the Utahuhu Trotting Club's Cup. This is second donation received from this Club, [ making in all a total, of £208. The Mayor of Thames has forwarded a further contribution of £93 7/1 from the residents of Thames. The residents of Te Aroha are still strongly in sympathy with th c needs of the Belgians. They have forwarded another cheque for £20 2/6 through the [Te Aroha News Printing and Publishing Co. TOTAL OF 9,902 SHILLINGS. The Shilling Fund which was opened at this office in the early stages of the relief movement is still attracting acceptable donations. A total of 9.902 shillings has been received to date, and it will doubtless soon he carried, to 10,000. i A letter enclosing postal notes for £2 10/ has just come to hand from the children of the Hukapapa Sunday school. The writer states: "This amount was given last year by the children for the purpose of buying prizes, but they now i wish to donate the moirey to the Belgian Relief Fund.
