OBSTINATE FIGHTING.

FROM NXEMEN TO VISTULA. AUSTRIAN TROOPS WIPED OUT. WELLINGTON, March 12. The Prime Minister has received the following from the High Commissioner, dated London. March 12:— Petrograd reports that between the Niemen and the Vistula there have been extremely obstinate battles in the region of the Symno Valley, the rivers Omulew and Orjec, and in the direction of Prasnysz. In the Carpathians, all the enemy's attacks were repulsed. Austrian units which attempted to entrench after the failure of a night attack were annihilated. In Eastern Galicia, south of Kijnieff, the Germans were driven back.
