■f, ■ ■• ■...,, >■- — - '- VIEWS OF CORBESFOITOEHTS. THE DOOM OF THE -TURKS. S. L. P. Rimmer writes: "Your eubleader is-very timely, and I personally am very glad to see it. It would no doubt be interesting to many of your readers to know what the ■ Bible says about 'the doom of the Turks.' Bible students have often pointed out what it gays regarding the Turks, but.generaljy the man, on the street receives the statement with a credulous smile. Some two years ago one of jour correspondents wns very surprised when I said one of the next things I expected to happen was war between 'England and Turkey. He said. •Where do you get thatf On the Bible,' I; replied. 'I never saw it,' was his answer. You also had an article in last Saturday's issue on 'The Future of Palestine,' taken from the 'London Daily Chronicle.' In this surmise of ' the writer I may say he conies very near the prophecy of'the Bible* He surmises that after victory has crowned the banner of the Allies the doom of the Ottoman Empire will be sealed. This, of course, both England and Russia have committed themselves to; but he proceeds to ask, 'What will then become of Palestine?' The Bible gives the answer. It says: The Jews will then go back to their own land under the wing of some great Power; but it also says the Turks w3l commit a massacre in Palestine itself, and thus bury the vengeance that will whet the sword for their destruction. The most important thing for 1 us in this connection is that the Bible says it will be at this time when the Jews are in the land of Palestine,' under a protectorate, that the most sanguinary wars will take place that ever reddened the earth with blood. Just what happened in Belgium when Garmany violated the treaty of neutrality will happen agayi in Palestine, but this time it will be Russia that will violate thejraaty, and the Bible says England 1 and her colonies will challenge Russia, as England challenged Germany, only in this instance Russia will win? This is the great final war, often called Armageddon, and it is the immediate precursor of the millennium reign of the J»rd. I may say there are still many things to happen before that war eventuates. For instance, there will be a tenkihgdomed confederacy in Europe, and one man appointed supreme head. A new Babylon will be rebuilt, possibly built by tliie ten-kingdomed Power, and a mast magnificent city it will be; but it will all happen in the lifetime of the people living now. Those who think afterthis war the world will settle down to a time of peace and prosperity utterly fail to estimate the jealousies that the possessions of the sick man of Europe will liberate. We are living in great times. , ' i .
