LONDON, March 11. The "Westminster Gazette" says that a German submarine on February 23 attempted to dive under the trawler Alexander Hastie. in the North Sea.

She fouled the trawl and later reappeared on her broadside, or overturned. She remained so for twenty minutes and then sank. Much oil rose Burfacc after the craft had disappeared.
