DEVONPORT WATER SUPPLY
(To the Editor.) Sir, —What does the Council intend to do re the above question. Something will soon have to be done beyond measuring the last few remaining gallons through a meter. 'Why not take on the tank system as <t supplementary supply? Say 500-gallon reinforced concrete tank with cover laid on to sink could be installed in every house for about £5 each complete, and everyone would have a miniature reservoir of his own. I would much rather pay £5 for a tank supply than £3 for a useless meter. Apart from results, it would keep the money at home instead of sending it away for meters. Suppose we had 1000 of these tanks installed, we 'had sufficient rainfall last Thursday night to easily fill them up. which would mean half-a-mil-! lion gallons!, and that would considerably help our main supply.—l am, etc., DEVOXPORT RATEPAYER.
