KUKANUI-CALEDO3JIAN. The committee appointed by shareholders of the Kuranui-Caledonian G.M. Co. has issued a circular for the iniorma- : tion of those not present at the meeting held earlier this week. It is with regard I to the call of 3d per share, which fell due on September 3, 1914, for the recovery of which legal proceedings have been threatened. The circular states I that "certain shareholders in Auckland have taken legal advice, which is to the effect that the shares should have been forfeited, and that the company has no longer any right to enforce payment of the call." ; The circular also states that at present calls are unpaid by some 57 shareholders on over 42,000 shares, and it has been decided to "combine in order to defend to finality, as a test case, any action taken by the company." Each shareholder whose call is unpaid ie therefore asked to contribute towards the cost involved, which will only mean a small sum to each individual shareholder.
