' REFORMING THE CHURCHES. (Received 8 a.m.) LOXDOX, March 10. At the National Council of Free Churches, which was opened at .Manchester, the Kt. Hon. Sir J. ComptonRicketts, M.P., who' presided; said' the present time called for greater federal unity of the churches. The Bey. Gillies, Moderator of the Presbyterian Chureb-in England, urged that there should tea revision and simplification of ,the creeds and; the Abolition of- sensational preaching and sentimental piety.
