THE WHARF LABOURER.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Recently in more than one instance 1 have heard and know of cases where single men are making their 50/ and £3 a week regularly on the wharf, against many married men with families just getting odd jobs and not making more' than 10/ to 30/ week after week. Now, surely those in charge should not rllow this, especially when everything is considered. The married man should certainly stand first. Even share and share alike would be bc-tter than the present system. Surely, in fairness to all concerned, its worth while seeing into. You shout for children, ami at the same time crush the very folk that are the largest revenue producers find taxpayers.—[ am, etc.. THINKING.
