STARVING BELGIUM. AUSTRALIA SYMPATHETIC. SYDNEY, February 26. The Xcw South Wales Agent-General in London. Sir T. A. Coghlan, Vias cabled an assurance of the genuineness of the body issuing tire appeal on behalf of the Belgians. The money will be eerupulously applied without deduction. The Imperial Government testifies to the admirable organisation established by the Commission. The appeal emanates from thp American, Spanish and Italian Embassies. The Premier. Mr. W. A. Holman. suggests that Xew South Wales will undertake the responsibility of contributing £30,000 per month, the Government subsidising subscriptions at tire rate of 10/ for every 20/ collected, until the necessity for the fund vanishes with the restoration of Belgium' 3 independence. The "Sydney Morning Herald,' , in a ■leader, urges that support be giv«n to the Belgians with the utmost generosity. The Hon. A.
