OBITUARY.
i —— HON. E. RICHARDSON, C.M.G. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) "WELLINGTON", Friday. The Hon. Edward Richardson. C.M.G., , who 'had been in failing health for a considerable time, died in Wellington to-day at the age of 84. Before coming , to Zealand, in IS6I, Mr. Richardson carried out many lajge railway and other contracts in Victoria. With Mr. George i Holmes, he built the railway ■from Lytteljton to Christchurch. including the tunnel. He became a member of Parliament ■in IS7I. and Minister of Works in the Waterhouse, Fox. Yogel, Pollen, and Stout-Vogel Governments. He was a I member of the Legislative Council for ■ seven years.
