The stjjlion Robert the Bruce, by Scottish Kins—Moorooroo, is to be at the service of breeders this season, his fees being fixed low at £7 7/ for thoroughbred mares, anil £5 5/ for farmers' mares. Robert the Bruoe is a well-bred norse. Gor. by Scottish King, by Wallace, his dam iloorooroo by Trenton, he has a double strain, of the celebrated Musket Mood, and comes from a great racing family. Owing to a slight mishap he never raced, but retired early, a sound horse, to tbo stud, this being his second season. There was a bit of schooling work witnessed at Ellerslle yesterday morning, in view of the forthcoming Avondale meeting. over five hurdles, the former getting a break at the start, and leading al! the way. King Try was a bit troublesome, and it was some time before be could be indnced to -commence his task. Watcrfly and Pip were given a similar task, both fencing fairly well. T.ariy Sabretache alone schooled over ihu hurdles, maJiing no mistake. Companion alone was sent i_vep Fix hurdles, but was not ridden at his fences, aud as a consequence fpneed slowly. The Glad Eye and Hawardpn. two aspirants for Jumping honours, were given a turn over the pony hurdles, both giving a satisfactory display for beginners. Vestal. Atahaere, Chris and Golborne started together over the big fences in the centre of the course. The sod wall McKinnon. escaping without injury. Golborne was afterwards remounted, and fenced in good style. The other trio jumped well. Chris being taken off after jumping the stone wall, Vestal and Atahaere taking them ou the secoud time, both giving a good display of fencing. Koto alone jumped the bis fences without mistake.
