DEATH OF FAMOUS JUDGE.
LONDON, September 8. The death is announced of Lord O'Brien, the Lord Chief Justice of Ireland. The late Chief Justice of Ireland waa seventy-two years of age. From ISS7 to ISSS he was Solicitor-General for Ireland, and from ISSS to 1SS!1 he was I Attorney-General. These periods emj brace the fiercest portions of the great I land war when wholesale prosecutions ! were instituted and carried out by the - authorities of Dublin Castle. During I these traublous times. Mr. rvtcr O'Rrien. as he was then known, took a rirominent |-part in the prosecutions.
