MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD BOARD
■ The Mount Roskiil Road Bonrd met on Tuesday night. There were present: Messrs. J. I'eet (chairman), G. Winstone, T. I-:. Uayr, J. Parr, and .1. 11. Hopkins. Water Supply. —An account for 30/ received from the Ouehunga Fire Brigade for attending n Are at Mr. Ilayr's resilience in Mount Albert Road recently provoked considerable discussion. The Board did not object to pay the account by any means, hut felt considerable resentment at a statement circulated In the district that there was a shortage of water when the fire took place. Mount rtoskill has a good nnpply of water, the chairman stated, and the pressure in Mount Albert Road Is satisfactory. The account was passed for payment. The chairman and Mr. T. E. Hayr reported on the recent conference held at OnehnngE to consider what steps. If any, could be taken to form a united Fire Board for Are protection purpose of a combined district. These gentlemen were requested to continue to act on behalf of the Board at any future conferences which may be held on the question.
