METROPOLITAN UNION BEATEN SEVEN POINTS TO SIX. , SYDNEY. August 5. The (New Zealund Rugby Union Representative footballers played a metropolitan Union tca.ro to-day. The following were the teams: — New Zealand: iFullbuck. Oockroft: threequarter*. Taylor, It. Roberts, and. Lynch; iMcKenzic and Black; halfback, K. Roberto; forwards. Francis, 'Lindsay. Irvine. Downing, Wilson. Fisher, Cr-tluvni and '.Murray. Metropolitan.—Fullback, Bca-th; threequarters. Carr, INorris, 1-rcntice, nnd Maawey-Wcstropp; ifive-e.ighth, Walker; halfback. Wood; forwards, Watson, O'Donnell. Gwrge, Fahey. Wallace, Baker. Tliorapeon, and Oooncy. The game opened with loose play followed by a short passing run by Roberts. Lynch and K. Robert*. The New Zealandcr.s were pressing for some time. A free kick giving him an opening. Nonis made a brilliant run and Metropolitan invaded New Zealand's territory. ( The "All Blacks" rnllicd. and loose play in the Metropolitan twenty-five resulted in a swift attack by Roberts, fMcKenzie, Black ami Lynch, who scored. Graham's kick failed. Metropolitan, following "p. made several abortive rushes. When play wa* in Metropolitan territory. R. Roberts scored. E. "Roberts converting.
