STATE GUARANTEES WAR RISKS.
TO KEEP THE WHEAT SHIPS GOING. (Received 8.30 a.m.) , LONDON, August 4. A proclamation prohibits tbe exportation of articles useful for naval or military purposes. The Government announces a guarantee of war risks on wheat and flour shipped at Atlantic and Canadian ports under existing contracts, a list of.which must be supplied within forty-eight hours.' The premiums will be paid by the~ importer and charged against the eventual receiver. It is understood that this step was taken to secure sixty-four million bushels of Canadian wheat. A White Paper issued, continuing the report of the sub-committee on Imperial Defence on insurance of shipping in war time, recommends that the State reinsure 80 per cent risks.
